what the actual fuck?
basically what i’m getting from this is that this girl’s father thinks that frat guys are entitled to rape her if she makes the stupid decision of showing up there and drinking on an empty stomach alone. this is so wrong. she can blame herself for getting sick, making an idiot out of herself, even damaging her reputation. all the consequences of drinking are on her, completely. but rape is NEVER okay, no matter what the circumstances. whoever her father is, he should be ashamed of himself. if anyone actually was “asking for it,” it wouldn’t be rape. the entire point is that they are NOT asking for it. one of the big reasons rape happens is because we are sooo focused on how to avoid being raped. “don’t dress slutty, don’t flirt too much, don’t drink and pass out…” blah blah blah. and this probably all good advice, for different reasons. but when the fuck have you ever heard someone say, “DON’T RAPE” as opposed to “DON’T GET RAPED!” This is our problem. When have men (or women) ever been told “Hey, if you are experiencing any urges to rape someone, here are your resources to get help…” personally, if i had the misfortune of having this problem, i wouldn’t know what the hell to do with myself. and THAT is our problem. as well, i think if there were as many resources for pedophiles to handle their sexuality and function regularly in society as there was access to childporn on the internet, we would have a lot less problems.
i always say this, but our world is always focussed on the wrong things and we fear all of the wrong things. all i can say is, if any of my children, or family and friends, end up having an experience like this, i will be there for them. i will remind them time and time again that this is not their fault. and it is sad that they will need reminding, but that’s the world we live in, apparently.
our society is so freaking twisted.

I’ve recently realized my blog is basically a collection of things I could never say to you.
So this is what it’s like to be happy without you…it’s not quite as good as before, but it’s a hell of a lot less scary, because you don’t have the power to take it away.
we were never even together, and that is precisely the reason that i’ll alway be in love with you.
i don’t really think of you any more. but i don’t think of you any less, either.
whatever it is we’re doing, it hurts more than you can imagine. but i can’t bring myself to stop because i would rather have a small part of you than nothing at all.
